The RTA Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

I am honored to be featured for Hispanic Heritage Month at the RTA. I began serving on the RTA Board representing DuPage County in August 2019, and I serve on the Audit and Planning & Administration committees. I am confident that my experience in business and government and my entrepreneurial leadership will add a vital and diverse voice to the RTA Board.

As a native of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela my roots are firmly planted in the Hispanic community. In both my professional and personal endeavors, I am continually guided by the belief that all individuals should be equipped with the resources for equal opportunity, no matter their circumstance, gender, ability or ethnicity.

During my tenure on the Illinois Tollway Board of Directors, I advocated for more minority business involvement at the Tollway resulting in an increase of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation in professional services from approximately 10% to 30% and construction services from approximately 2% to 21%.

In 2009, I founded Wynndalco Enterprises, LLC, a rapidly expanding Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and DBE company with more than 50 employees in throughout the US, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Trinidad.

My family and I are fifteen-year residents of Hinsdale and are very active in the thriving community. My wife, Eva Andalcio, serves on the boards of the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club and the Chicago Sinfonietta. My children attend local Hinsdale schools. I am currently a member of the College of DuPage Foundation Board, Choose DuPage, Emergency Telephone System Board of DuPage County and the Life Directions Board reaching at risk children and young adults with peer mentoring. I am also a member of the Latino Leadership Council (LLC), the Hispanic American Construction industry Association (HACIA), The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC), and Chicago United.

My work in the community has been recognized by numerous publications and organizations, including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Ernst and Young, Hispanic Business, Minority Entrepreneur, and Inc. Magazine.

I am proud to celebrate my heritage this month and throughout the year and bring my skillset and heritage to the RTA Board of Directors and the public transit community as a whole.
