We Can All Agree: Transit is STILL the Best Way to Get to the Ballgame

Summer in Chicago means heading to the ballpark to catch a game—sometimes that means to a local park to cheer on your kids or neighbors and sometimes it means cheering on the Cubs or the Sox. Northside or Southside, Abreu or Bryant…cheering on your team is part of what makes our region great. Just like our public transportation system.
Later this week, the Crosstown Classic between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox will conclude with two games at Guaranteed Rate Field. It’s a time where everyone wears their team’s hats and jerseys (or raincoats in this weather!) with pride no matter where the game is.
Whichever team you cheer for, we can all agree on taking public transit to the game. Take the CTA Red Line to the Sox-35th stop for the games at Guaranteed Rate. There’s Pace shuttle buses from the suburbs to the Sox park. Fans going to Guaranteed Rate Field along Metra's Rock Island District can get off at 35th Street/ “Lou” Jones Station, then walk west on 35th Street to the ballpark. It’s the best way to avoid parking costs and beat the traffic. Stay warm and take transit!
Don’t just take it from us, families agree that taking transit is the best way to get to the game! Check out this short video and be on the lookout for many more “opposites” who can agree on public transportation.
