Transit Employees (and Enthusiasts) Finding Love!

["It’s Valentine’s Day. As a transit agency, we love (pun intended) finding stories about transit enthusiasts who share their lives together and public transit plays a big part. This year, we are featuring two Pace employees who are married and love transit: Elissa Ledvort and John Kokoris. The couple got married last October, posing for pictures at the Harlem/Lake Green Line Station en route to their Columbus Park reception.\n\nHow they met in John’s own words:\n\n“I have a big Christmas party every year, and my coworker, whose husband was out of town, brought Elissa with her instead. Four years later, we got married at Old St. Pat’s downtown and had the reception at Columbus Park Refectory in Austin; transit directions featured prominently on the wedding website. We are both lovers of architecture and local history, and our families hail from Chicago’s West Side and western suburbs, so the venues were perfect. The next day, we moved out to Elgin where we enjoy robust transportation options, including the beautiful Fox River Trail.”\n\n[gallery ids=\"/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2019/02/0290.jpg","John and Elissa enjoying their wedding day with a Pace bus as their chariot!,/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2019/02/0292.jpg","John and Elissa enjoying their wedding day with a Pace bus as their chariot!,/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2019/02/0295.jpg","John and Elissa enjoying their wedding day with a Pace bus as their chariot!,/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2019/02/JnE-Wedding-PIc.jpg","Pace employees enjoying John and Elissa’s wedding. Fond memories include riding the Metra UP-W to Geneva’s Swedish Days festival, taking the CTA Blue Line to the Women’s March, and using Pace Route 606 as their airport “limo” service to O’Hare before their honeymoon.\n\nTransit can be more than just getting to and from work. It can be a great (and affordable) way to explore the region with your true love. Happy Valentine’s Day, and make transit a part of your celebration!"]
