The WTS Greater Chicago held a Scholarship Reception and Fundraiser and our own Maux Sullivan, Intern in the Regional Coordination Division since May 2017, was awarded with the Diane Woodend Jones Leadership Legacy Graduate Scholarship!
Maux is a Master’s student in Urban Planning and Policy specializing in Transportation Planning at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Maux’s interest in transportation planning stems from her experiences as an Undergraduate Research Fellow working on the CTA Red Line South Extension report and in Scranton, Pennsylvania working with those living in poverty who faced significant transportation challenges. She has previously received scholarships from the American Public Transportation Foundation and the Federal Highway Administration.
Maux aspires to find innovative solutions to address accessibility and mobility issues that create a more equitable transportation network. From all of us at the Regional Transportation Authority, congratulations and keep up the great work!

About WTS and the Leadership Legacy Scholarship
The WTS mission to build the transportation industry through the global advancement of women can be realized by encouraging women to further their careers as leaders in transportation. WTS recognizes that transportation is more than simply moving people and goods from one place to another. It is a driver of growth and an integral part of communities throughout the world. The leadership, skills, and perspectives of women are essential to ensure that the transportation systems of the future respond to the needs of all. Through the Leadership Legacy Scholarship, WTS seeks to motivate and reward women who demonstrate leadership in the industry to bring ideas, innovation, and new approaches to transportation challenges in the US and beyond.
The Leadership Legacy Scholarship currently takes the name of the 2016-2018 WTS International Chair, Diane Woodend Jones.
