We’re excited to announce that once again we are the recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for our 2017 regional transportation budget.
We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the 21st consecutive year. It speaks to our commitment to presenting a budget that meets the highest standards of communication and accountability to the public. In a time when we face dire funding obstacles, it’s more important than ever to prioritize transparency in our budgets.
The RTA’s 2017 budget document was rated “proficient” or “outstanding” for each of 27 criteria within six evaluation categories, qualifying the regional budget to be an example for others throughout North America. Our Treasury, Budget, and Financial Analysis Division received a Certificate of Recognition for its role as the division primarily responsible for the achievement of this award. The Planning, Capital Programming & Performance team also provided significant contributions to the RTA’s efforts in securing this recognition.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
