["Last month, we highlighted how the Metra Station in Olympia Fields played an integral part in the growth of the Olympia Fields Country Club (OFCC) since its inception over 100 years ago. This past week marked an important milestone for the Club as it hosted the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and the OFCC didn’t shy from promoting the event through one of its best assets: you guessed it, the Olympia Fields Metra Station.\n\nThe station served as the official entrance to the tournament, and according to Matt Larson, Championship Director at the PGA, “When you combine the virtues of the Club with its ease of access via the Metra Electric Line, it really takes the Championship and its spectator experience to another level.” To promote the convenient service to attendees, the PGA and KPMG brought in 5-time PGA Major Champion Phil Mickelson to show how easy it was to ride Metra from Downtown Chicago to Olympia Fields.\n\n\nBefore the tournament, KPMG hosted its third annual Women’s Leadership Summit. The event brings together highly accomplished leaders in business, politics, sports and the media to share strategies and insights from their personal journeys with the next generation of women leaders. Metra helped attendees travel to and from the Summit at Olympia Fields with a special train sponsored by KMPG from the downtown Millennium Station to the Olympia Fields Station. If you’re interested in learning more from the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, you can watch a recap here.\n\nGet a firsthand look at the tournament with these photos! It’s clear how important Metra is to the success of these events.\n\n[gallery ids=\"/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0118.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0112.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0063.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0065.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0066.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0072.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0073.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0081.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0089.jpg",",/uploads/images/blog/WP-Old/2017/07/img_0111.jpg","\" type=\"slideshow\"]\n\nPublic transportation can be used in more ways than just commuting to work. Next time you see a cool event you want to attend, don’t fret over the traffic or parking.
