Let's play public transportation jeopardy.
Answer: The national average is 26.4 minutes.
Question: What is the average commute time in the USA according to new U.S. Census survey estimates?
And, in case you're wondering, the average Illinois commute is nearly a half hour each way, a full 28.8 minutes. Yes, worse than the national average. New Yorkers have it the worst with a 33.1 minute average commute and South Dakotans have it best, with an average 16.6 minute commute.
For commuters in the RTA region, commutes can mean reading a book, safely texting or just relaxing! Take back that hour every day. The regional transportation system can be a commuter's best friend! Ride On.
