The RTA is pleased to contribute to transit improvements in the Village of Libertyville. We provided the Village an $80,000 grant to complete a transit-oriented development (TOD) plan for 2016, through our Community Planning program. The TOD plan will review the existing conditions of the Village’s transportation infrastructure, policies and operations and find ways to improve rider access to public transportation, while attracting residential and commercial development to the area. In addition to the creation of the TOD Plan, the Village is also looking to remodel its Metra station, along with some other much anticipated improvements. Village officials are now soliciting proposals to begin the work. Read more about what's planned for Libertyville.
