RTA Joins Lake County Officials in Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for new Dial-a-Ride Service

CHICAGO – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is proud to take part in today’s ribbon cutting ceremony for the Ride Lake County Central Pace Dial-a-Ride service that will make curb-side transportation service available to thousands of residents living in Lake County.
“The RTA is proud to be an integral part of bringing this service to Lake County," said RTA Executive Director Leanne Redden. "Throughout the region, the RTA has allocated $5.1 million to local communities for these types of projects. Last year, more than 200,000 trips were provided by similar projects already underway."
The new service will provide trips to eligible seniors and individuals with disabilities residing in the Townships of Fremont, Libertyville and Shields and the Villages of Libertyville and Mundelein. Service hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. The cost to use this service is $3 each way for trips under 10 miles and $6 each way for trips over 10 miles.
The project is federally funded through the Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program, providing $164,000 of federal funds with a local match provided by municipalities and townships.
