Chicago – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Community Planning Program is a nominee for the 2014 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Chicago Vision Award in the Program category. Winners will be announced at the third annual ULI Chicago Vision Awards ceremony to be held tomorrow night, June 4, at the Redmoon Theater in Chicago. The RTA is one of seven nominees for the prestigious Program Award, selected by ULI Chicago members who are recognized leaders in their field.
“The RTA is proud to be nominated for this award. Our Community Planning Program provides funds for communities to create plans that enhance use of the regional transit system,” said RTA Acting Executive Director Leanne Redden. “This nomination is further acknowledgement of the leadership we provide in helping create and implement real benefits for transit riders.”
Each nomination is based on the program achieving a standard of excellence in the areas of design, construction, economics, marketing and management. Award-winning projects and programs highlight creative development practices, inventive partnerships or sharing of resources, imaginative problem solving, or visionary ideas that have contributed to the growth of vibrant communities.
