Redesigned RTA Website Makes it Easier to Find Best Route And Locate Regional Transit Information

January 29, 2015

Site is home to RTA Trip Planner and overall transit information

CHICAGO – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is announcing the launch of its newly redesigned website.

The new site provides a wide-range of resources, ranging from the RTA Trip Planner which received more than 5 million visits last year, to a variety of documents and studies that offer information about the transit region, the RTA and the CTA, Metra, Pace.

The information on the site continues to range from budget information to ridership numbers, and  the new design and color palette make it easier and more pleasant to use. In addition, rotating features on the home page highlight the accomplishments of the RTA.  The site is designed to convert easily to many formats, so riders can easily visit and use the site from a smart phone, tablet or desktop.  Additionally, the site conforms to accessibility standards to ensure access for people with disabilities, including vision impaired individuals who use screen readers.

"Our online visitors will now experience a more vibrant and seamless view of how the RTA works with the service boards, municipalities and transit advocates," said Leanne Redden, RTA Executive Director.  “We hope visitors will find this website easy to use, whether they come on line to plan a trip or examine the latest regional budget information.”

The RTA website address is the same and can be viewed by visiting www.RTAchicago.org.
