Public Transportation Offers Best Travel Option for Summer Festivals - July 31

RTA Trip Planner offers easy way to plan routes to July 31 weekend festivities

CHICAGO – Summer fun is just a short ride away and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is reminding riders that they can beat the traffic by taking the fastest and most convenient way to get around the region: public transportation. Take a bus or train to enjoy family time, meet friends at an event or just enjoy our great city.

Riders can use the RTA’s Trip Planner to plan travel and select routes with ADA accessible services when necessary.  It is the only website in the region that provides a variety of options for getting around by using transit, walking, bicycling and driving. Enjoy some of these featured weekend events:

  • Fiesta del Sol - Enjoy the largest Latino festival in the Midwest in Pilsen, 1400 W. Cermak, Chicago from July 30 to August 2. Celebrate Mexican culture, enjoy live entertainment, local art, carnival rides and much more. Learn more about the Fiesta del Sol.
