Chaddick Institute Releases Top 20 Transit Suburbs

The Chaddick Institute at DePaul University recently released a report ranking the top 20 transit suburbs of metropolitan Chicago.  The RTA is proud to have worked with eight of the top 20 communities to develop their transit-oriented development (TOD) plans for their Metra stations through our Community Planning program.  These plans laid the groundwork for improved station amenities and access, increased residential density, and a mix of commercial uses in a walkable, pedestrian-scaled environment—all factors that can lead to increased ridership at the stations and used by the Chaddick Institute to select the top communities.
