RTA Statement on Funding Restoration |

CHICAGO – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and regional transit riders appreciate Governor Blagojevich's decision to restore state funding for a portion of our lost revenues from providing free and reduced fare riding programs. The state faces a very tough budget situation, and the decision by the legislature and governor to restore these funds shows they recognize the importance of mass transit service to the economy and to our region's most vulnerable citizens, including senior citizens and people with disabilities, who benefit from these programs.
