RTA Trip Planner Offers Easy Way to Plan Routes

Chicago – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is continuing to remind riders that the fastest and most convenient way to get around this summer is by taking transit.  The fun is just a short ride away on a bus or train and a great way to enjoy family time, meet friends at an event or just enjoy our great city.

Featured weekend events:

  • Naperville Ale Fest (July 19) - Choose from 200 unique beers from craft breweries around the country, while enjoying live music and food from some of Naperville's favorite restaurants. No need to drive, head to Union Station, hop on the BNSF line and get off at the Naperville stop to be within walking distance.
  • Sheffield Garden Walk (July 19 - 20) - Stroll through more than 80 beautiful gardens or enjoy a self-guided architectural tour. Just one block off the CTA's Red or Brown Line Fullerton stop to be among the thousands enjoying the weekend's festivities.
  • Taste of River North (July 18 – 20) - Missed the Taste of Chicago? Enjoy this northside food festival, featuring the best food, music and art from the River North area. A quick jump on the CTA's 37 Sedgwick bus or the Red, Blue or Brown line will put you in the middle of this food fest.

“Our transit system is the best way to reach your favorite destinations, whether it’s planning a mid-week visit to the museum, enjoying a night out for dinner or participating with hundreds of concert goers at one of the many free performances held at Chicago’s Grant Park,” said Acting RTA Executive Director Leanne Redden.

Riders can use the RTA’s Trip Planner to plan travel and select routes with ADA accessible services when necessary.  It is the only online site in the region that provides a variety of options for getting around our region, including transit, walking, bicycling and driving.
